30 DAYS TRAINING - GREEN BROKE

Due to demand from our customers and inquiries from prospective customers, Lazy Run Ranch is now offering professional training for your horse.  All horses will be stalled, receive quality hay, Buckeye grain & supplement,  horse lic and of course fresh water daily.  First week of training will consist of ground work, i.e., longe line for respect, pecking order, mane and face trim, feet pickup/trim and most importantly lots of brushing and lots of love.  It is during this first week that trust is established with your horse.  During the second week, all things learned during the first week are reinforced, coupled with introduction to items such as plastic bags, hats, blankets, slickers, kids, different sounds like horns, loud speaker system, sirens, etc.   While being worked in round pen our young crowd set on the top of the pens watching (this is a big training tip)(want to know why, email me and I will tell you). During the third week, laying over the horse is started while bareback.  This is progressed to laying on the horse across the back, rubbing both sides, having the horse observe from both eyes, mounting and dismounting from both sides and sliding off the rump. Introduction to bridle, different bits and the saddle is also accomplished during the third week.  During the third and fourth week, riding the horse two to three hours a day is accomplished.  Working all three gates, (walk, trot and canter), backing, flexing, disengaging hind quarters is introduced and reinforced.

All horses must have current coggins and health papers. Up to date worming is necessary prior to being brought to Lazy Run for training.  A contract will be signed between Lazy Run Ranch and horse owners which will establish rights and responsibilities for all parties involved.

This Paint gelding is nicknamed "Spirit" - "Spirit" came in a little underweight however due to our feeding program, he is packing on the pounds and building muscle bringing out a nice conformation. "Spirit"  was a little wild when first arriving however he has settled down and has shown us that he is eager to learn.  "Spirit" is a very lucky horse, he has a 12 year old boy that eagerly awaits his arrival back home once his thirty day training is complete who loves him very much.  Leroy and Mary Hargrave and grandson Joseph reside outside Cameron and are "Spirit's" owners.

This is "Skip" (Skipa King Conclusiv).  "Skip" was pulled out of the pasture after about two years free grazing.  He had issues about being stalled and tied.  "Skip" thought he was the general and we were his subordinates.  Once this mindset was reversed with lots of sound discipline and love, he has turned out to be quit the ride. O yes, he likes to wear Bert's hat.
